For now, if you want to control segments in 7-seg in instrument panel directly,

The only way seem to be using 7 on/off channels shifted by input channel of the 7-seg.

This is too intensive and for real world, 7-seg could be driven by ICs which receive the coded values.

For eg, 1001001(2) will activate the 1,4,7th segment of the 7-seg.

I hope we get a better compact way to use current 7-seg.
