Current instrument panels are golden, however a few things can be added to make them even better for jets;
Additions:
- Analogue Artificial Horizon, similar to the one present in game.
- Analogue Compass, similar to the one in game.
- Covered Switches. These could be activated with a sub button below the current button, and would not be able to be pressed until the cover is pulled off.
- Rotating Switches/Knobs, with up to 3 positions, and 3 start positions. (Start could be designated like the arrow buttons, already in use.) E/Q would cycle through or rotate them, and Knobs would output either a -1~1 value, while switches would output on/off on channels, with 3 channels per desired amount of turns.
Potential Improvements:
- backlight adjustments, so we can color individual parts of dials.
For example, colorable segments on the Dial or Gauge.
For example, MiG-21 AoA dial perfectly represents this change to backlight.
- Text readout on dial, so we can see a small description of what the dial is showing. If this were done, a potential setting could be added called "Instrument Panel quality, with Low and High being the presets. Low would not show text, high would.
For example, like the AOA dial, we can add the numbers to show that the value represents without actually moving the mouse to see it.
See MiG-21 AoA dial for image.
Perhaps a option in the panel to display text in 2 parts, with
